Review your writing

Get feedback on clarity, structure, argument, and claims that need evidence.

Step 3 of 4
Review my writing

Request feedback on clarity, structure, argument, and claims that need evidence.

Before you start

Open your own document and add at least 20 words. The view only sample cannot run a review. Make sure your draft has finished saving before requesting feedback.

Request feedback

  1. Open Check beside the document.
  2. Choose Writing, then Review my writing.
  3. Read the response in Write, where the review continues.
  4. Use the feedback to decide what to revise. Accept an edit only after reviewing it.

What the review covers

  • Clarity and wording that may be difficult to follow.
  • Structure and the progression of your argument.
  • Claims that may need evidence or a citation.

Writing feedback is separate from web matches and citation checks. It does not establish that a source supports a claim.

If a review is unavailable

Keep working in your draft and try again when the service is available. Check Usage if you have reached an allowance. The Getting started review step remains open until a review succeeds or a web check completes.
