Give a compatible assistant access to the research you choose
Overview
Model Context Protocol lets a compatible client work with Citation documents and sources in a workspace you authorize. The implementation includes document search, source tools, draft editing and reference exports with explicit permissions.
Supported formats
- Export from Citation
- TXTBibTeXRIS
How to get started
Read the client setup guide, open MCP connections in Citation, and choose a workspace and permissions. Add the exact server address to your client and review its authorization request.
Availability
MCP requires a configured Citation server and a compatible client. Client setup guides describe supported connection methods, not verified account connections. Public deployment and client compatibility must be checked for your setup.
What to expect
Read access is the starting point. Writing and exporting need separate permissions. Revoke access from MCP connections. A client listing does not mean it is connected or tested with your account.
