01About these terms

These terms describe the proposed agreement between you and RELOAD TECHNOLOGIES - FZCO, the operator of Citation, for access to the Citation website, workspace, and related features. “Citation,” “we,” and “us” refer to that operator. “You” means the person using the service or, where you have authority to act for an organisation, that organisation.

The operator’s service address and country of establishment are awaiting confirmation. This version is a review draft, not a final agreement. Our current contact is hello@alptekincan.com.

The Privacy policy explains personal data processing, the Cookie policy explains browser storage, and the Security policy describes safeguards and reporting. Reading a privacy notice does not, by itself, give consent to every form of processing.

02What Citation provides

Citation is a writing and research workspace. You can organise documents and files, create and format references, export your work, request AI writing assistance, compare passages with accessible public sources, and share selected documents. Some features depend on supported file formats, available providers, account permissions, and usage limits.

Citation is currently free. There is no active paid upgrade checkout or subscription renewal. Your usage settings show the allowances available to your account. Higher limits may be requested through hello@alptekincan.com and are reviewed manually. A request does not guarantee an increase. Existing credits, where shown, are feature allowances, not money or a promise of payment.

We may maintain, repair, or change features to improve the service, respond to security issues, or accommodate provider changes. For a material reduction or discontinuation, we intend to give reasonable notice and an opportunity to export work where practicable. Any future paid offering would require separate, clear pricing and terms before a charge is agreed.

03Eligibility and your account

You must be legally able to enter an agreement for the service. If you need a parent’s, guardian’s, school’s, or employer’s permission, obtain it before submitting material or using Citation on their behalf. Citation is not intended for children under 13. Any higher minimum age or other requirement imposed by the law that applies to you still applies.

Provide accurate account information and keep your sign in details private. Do not lend your account to someone else or impersonate another person. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account, but this does not make you responsible for loss caused by our failure to meet our own legal obligations.

Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Use the available password and session controls, and review document and integration permissions. An organisation’s administrator or a workspace owner may control access to work shared through that workspace.

04Your content and permissions

You retain your rights in the documents, sources, files, messages, and other material you submit. These terms do not transfer ownership of that material to Citation. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload, process, and share it, including permission to provide personal information about other people.

You give Citation a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, reproduce, transmit, format, and otherwise process your material as needed to provide the features you request, maintain and secure the service, and comply with applicable law. This includes processing by service providers and displaying material to people you authorise. It does not grant a general right to publish your private work for marketing.

This permission continues only for those purposes and for the retention described in the Privacy policy. Removing a shared document cannot recall copies already made by its recipients. Citation’s software, branding, and original website material remain the property of their respective rights holders. You may use the service as offered, but these terms do not grant ownership of the platform or a licence to use its brand as your own.

05AI, citations, and similarity results

AI assistance can produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or invented statements and references. Source databases can contain mistakes, and import or export conversions can change formatting. You must read the underlying sources, check authorship and publication details, review suggested edits, and confirm the citation style required for your work.

A similarity result identifies evidence for you to examine. It is not a finding of plagiarism, misconduct, copyright infringement, or originality. A match may be a quotation, common wording, or a properly cited passage. Missing matches do not prove that text is original. Searches are limited to accessible sources and do not cover every publication, private academic collection, or earlier submission.

You decide whether to accept generated material and how to use it. Outputs may be similar to outputs supplied to other people and may contain material subject to another person’s rights. Citation does not promise that an output is unique, protectable by copyright, or free of those rights.

Follow your institution’s, publisher’s, or employer’s rules on authorship, disclosure of AI use, and academic integrity. Do not use a score or AI response as the sole basis for a decision about a person’s education, employment, legal rights, or other significant interests. Citation does not provide professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

06Sharing and collaboration

Review the audience and role before sending an invitation or enabling a public link. A document guest receives access to the document shared with them, according to their role. Workspace membership can give broader access within that workspace. Editors may change shared work, and participants may see comments, document activity, and identity information associated with collaboration.

Anyone who obtains a public document link can read the content and source details it exposes without signing in. They may copy, download, forward, or publish what they see. Restricting a link or removing a member stops future access through that permission; it cannot erase an export, screenshot, or other copy already made.

Do not publish personal, confidential, or restricted material unless you are entitled to do so. If you receive an invitation in error, do not use it to access another person’s work. Contact the sender or Citation.

07Acceptable use

Use Citation lawfully and respect other people’s rights. In particular, do not:

  • Upload or distribute unlawful material, malware, stolen credentials, or material that infringes privacy or intellectual property rights.
  • Harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or exploit another person, or use the service to send unsolicited bulk communications.
  • Access accounts, documents, infrastructure, or data without permission, or attempt to defeat authentication or sharing controls.
  • Evade usage limits, create accounts to bypass restrictions, interfere with service availability, or run unauthorised automated extraction.
  • Misrepresent a generated citation, AI response, or similarity report as independently verified evidence.

Report suspected vulnerabilities using the security reporting instructions. The ability to reach an endpoint or open a file does not give permission to test or use someone else’s data.

08Connected services and external sources

AI providers, research databases, external websites, and tools you connect operate under their own terms. When you use a feature that sends data to a provider, the processing described in our Privacy policy applies. Review the provider’s permissions and terms before authorising a connection.

Integration availability depends on configuration and provider access. File exchange and manual imports are not a promise of automatic synchronisation. Disconnecting a provider does not delete content previously imported into Citation or exported to that provider. External links are provided for convenience or evidence; Citation does not control the accuracy, availability, or conduct of those services.

09Restrictions and ending access

You may stop using Citation at any time and contact us to request account closure. Export anything you need first. Moving content to Trash and permanently deleting it are separate actions. The Privacy policy explains retention, shared copies, and deletion requests.

We may restrict a feature, suspend an account, or remove content when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, unlawful activity, a security threat, or a legal obligation. We will take a proportionate approach. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and allow you to correct the problem or request a review. Urgent protection of people, data, or the service may require action without advance notice.

Contact hello@alptekincan.com if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Where access can be provided safely and lawfully, you may request a copy of your work. Provisions concerning existing rights, content already shared, lawful retention, and unresolved disputes continue to the extent needed after access ends.

10Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide Citation with reasonable care and skill. The service can experience interruptions, provider failures, processing errors, and loss of availability. Keep independent copies of important work. We do not guarantee an uninterrupted service, a particular academic outcome, or the accuracy of AI output or every external source.

Each party remains responsible for loss caused by its breach of obligations under applicable law. We do not exclude responsibility for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain intact, including rights concerning the quality or description of digital services where those rights apply.

For consumers, we remain responsible for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not accept responsibility for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses arising from use in a personal capacity, where the law permits that distinction. These terms do not impose a blanket waiver of claims, a nominal liability cap, or an obligation to compensate us for matters outside your control.

11Changes, concerns, and disputes

We will date revisions to these terms and make them available here. Material changes should be communicated before they take effect, with an opportunity to stop using the service. Where a change requires your agreement or consent, publishing a new version alone does not supply it. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.

Send service complaints, rights concerns, or questions to hello@alptekincan.com with enough detail for us to identify the issue. For an intellectual property complaint, identify the work, the material or URL at issue, the basis of your rights, and a way to contact you. Do not include unnecessary private information.

No contractual governing law or exclusive court has been selected in this review draft. Applicable law determines jurisdiction, and these terms do not remove protections or access to courts available to you under mandatory law. If one provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions apply to the extent they can operate fairly and independently.
