Choose the workflow for your paper
Scribbr offers a free citation generator alongside writing tools and separate editing or checking services. Citation focuses on developing the draft with source records and review in the same workspace.
Start with a representative section of your paper and the sources it needs. Compare the reference work, revision process and actual delivery file before changing the workflow for a complete project.
Choose the kind of help your paper needs
A bibliography generator, an AI revision and a human editor solve different problems. Scribbr offers several of these services. Decide whether you need one focused result or a workspace for developing and reviewing the paper over time.
Citation’s source records and connected citations stay with the document you are drafting. Add the publication you actually read, verify its details and place the reference beside the idea it supports.
Keep a writing suggestion separate from an editorial service
Citation’s AI assistant can propose changes to a passage using the current draft and saved source context. You review and apply those suggestions yourself. This is a different workflow from commissioning a human editing service.
Check any revision that changes the certainty, scope or attribution of a claim. A fluent result is not evidence that the source supports it. Use comments when an author or collaborator needs to resolve a specific question.
Transfer the research with the draft
Use an available bibliographic export when it matches Citation’s supported RIS or BibTeX import. Otherwise, add sources by identifier or title and inspect the metadata. Do not assume every bibliography download contains machine readable source records.
Bring the draft as DOCX or TXT when appropriate and reconnect its citations. Keep the original files while checking the exported document, especially if another editor will continue the work in Word.
Keep exploring.
