Why choose Citation over MyBib?
Your sources are ready. Now turn them into a paper. Citation is a MyBib alternative that gives you a place to develop the draft with AI writing help, connected references, and feedback from the people you invite.
Start the next paragraph with your research beside you. Ask the AI Assistant to help explain an idea or revise a passage using the current document and saved sources. Review the changes in place and keep building the same paper.
A free Citation workspace carries the work from source collection through revision and export. Bring your MyBib references, add your draft, and keep moving toward a complete assignment.

Sources and styles
Save a source to your Citation document using a URL, DOI, ISBN, title search, or manual entry. Insert a linked citation when you use its evidence so the reference belongs to the paragraph you are writing.
Work in APA 7, MLA 9, both Chicago 18 systems, Cite Them Right Harvard 12, IEEE, Vancouver (NLM), AMA 11, or ACS. Switching the document’s style reformats the linked citations and bibliography together.
Keep refining your work without rebuilding the reference list. Correct a saved source record and its connected uses update in the document. Review the details against the original material, then focus on explaining what the source contributes to your argument.
Writing and review
Citation’s editor gives your bibliography a purpose: the paper itself. Draft an introduction, develop a section, or ask the AI Assistant for a clearer explanation using your writing and saved sources as context.
Review every suggested edit alongside the original before deciding what to keep. Invite an editor to comment on a passage and work through the discussion in the same draft. Version history lets you return to an earlier saved version when you need it.
Use the web check before sharing to find passages matching public sources and review their links. It is a practical way to revisit quotations and attribution while you write. Public web checks do not cover private institutional repositories.
Imports and exports
Bring the references you already collected in MyBib. Export them as BibTeX, import the file into your Citation document, and insert connected citations from those records as you develop the draft.
Import your paper separately as DOCX or TXT, or paste the text. Citations already typed in the paper do not connect automatically, so link the relevant sources as you revise. Your existing writing gives you a starting point.
Take the finished paper with you. Citation exports the full document as DOCX, PDF, or TXT, plus BibTeX and RIS for its sources. Continue in Word, share a PDF, or reuse the reference data in your next research workflow.
