Why choose Citation over EasyBib?
Choose Citation as your EasyBib alternative to bring the writing process into one document. Develop the draft with AI help, insert citations connected to saved sources, and work through reviewer comments where the words are written.
Ask the AI Assistant to help clarify a passage or improve its structure using the current draft and source context. Compare the proposed revision with your original and apply the changes you want. Your writing remains yours to shape.
Start free with the assignment already in progress. Bring the draft, add its sources, and continue from first revision to a complete Word or PDF export without separating the paper from its references.

Sources and styles
Build an MLA works cited page or APA reference list as you write the paper. Add sources to Citation by URL, DOI, ISBN, title, or manual entry, then insert connected citations in the passages that use them.
Citation supports MLA 9, APA 7, both Chicago 18 systems, Cite Them Right Harvard 12, IEEE, Vancouver (NLM), AMA 11, and ACS. Choose the required style for your document and let Citation format its linked citations and bibliography together.
When source details change, correct the saved record to update its linked uses in the document. That keeps the reference work connected to the draft instead of leaving a separate list to maintain after each revision.
Writing and review
Use Citation’s AI Assistant to work on the passage in front of you. Ask for a clearer explanation, a stronger paragraph structure, or revised wording using your draft and saved sources. Review the proposed edit and decide what belongs in the paper.
Bring another person into the same process. Invite an editor to comment on selected text, reply to questions, and resolve feedback as you revise. Use version history to revisit a previous saved draft when you want to compare directions.
Citation’s web check shows passages matching accessible public sources with links you can open during review. Use it to revisit quotation and attribution before sharing. It does not search private institutional repositories or replace a required institutional report.
Imports and exports
Continue a paper you started while using EasyBib by importing its DOCX or TXT file, or pasting the text into Citation. Add the sources behind the references through lookup or manual entry, then connect them to the draft as you revise.
A downloaded Word bibliography contains formatted reference text. Importing it does not automatically create linked source records. Keep it available as a guide while adding the sources you use in the paper.
Export the complete assignment as DOCX for Word, PDF for sharing, or TXT for plain text. Download BibTeX or RIS when you also need its source data. Citation brings writing, references, and review together before you take the finished paper where it needs to go.
