# Citation > Citation is a citation generator and writing workspace. Create APA, MLA, Chicago and other citations, manage sources, and build your bibliography as you write. ## Access Citation is free with usage limits and requires an account. Sign in to use your workspace. Allowances for storage, sources, assistant use and checks can vary by account. Current allowances and recorded usage appear in account settings. Requests for more capacity are reviewed manually. ## Capabilities - Find source details by title, URL, DOI or ISBN, or add a reference manually. - Insert citations connected to saved sources and format a bibliography in a supported style. - Draft and edit documents with writing suggestions you can review before applying. - Review citation connections and compare passages with accessible public web sources. - Organize documents and research files in workspace folders. - Share documents with viewing or editing permissions. - Export documents and reference data for use in other writing and research tools. Citation styles: APA 7th edition, MLA 9th edition, Chicago 18 · Author and Date, Chicago 18 · Notes & Bibliography, Cite Them Right Harvard 12, IEEE, Vancouver (NLM), AMA 11th edition, ACS. Source lookup: Title, URL, DOI, ISBN. Document exports: DOCX, PDF, TXT. Bibliography exports: BibTeX, RIS. ## Limitations - Source details and formatted references need review. Check authors, dates, titles and publication details against the source you actually used. - A matching passage is not proof of plagiarism, and no matches does not prove originality. Web checks use accessible public sources and do not cover every publication, private repository or university database. - Citation checks inspect saved citation links and metadata. They do not establish whether every claim is true or whether a source supports an argument. - PDF source extraction needs readable text. OCR is not available for scanned pages without text. ## Product information - [AI info](https://citation.co/ai-info): Product capabilities, access and limitations. - [Product](https://citation.co/product) - [Free access](https://citation.co/pricing) - [Documentation](https://citation.co/docs) - [Integrations](https://citation.co/integrations) - [AI tools](https://citation.co/ai) - [Contact](https://citation.co/contact) ## Connections - [Citation MCP](https://citation.co/ai/mcp): Connect a compatible AI assistant to one approved workspace.
