# Write with the assistant Develop an idea, ask about your draft, or review a suggested edit before applying it. ## Start a conversation Open Write beside your document and describe what you need. Give the assistant a clear purpose, such as making an introduction more concise or identifying an unclear argument. - Ask a question about the draft or the material you provide. - Select a passage to give a request a specific starting point. - Explain the tone, length, or audience you want the writing to suit. ## Review an edit 1. Read the assistant response and any suggested replacement. 2. Compare the suggestion with your original wording and check factual claims. 3. Accept the edit if it improves your draft, or keep your original text. 4. Use Undo if you want to reverse an accepted edit. > An assistant response is not verification of a source or claim. Check source details and supporting evidence before using them in your work. ## Request a writing review For feedback on the whole draft, open Writing in Check and choose Review my writing. Feedback opens in Write and covers clarity, structure, argument, and claims that need evidence. - [Review your writing](/docs/writing-review) - [Check your current allowance](/docs/usage)
